Crafting Opals With Skill and Care
Specialized opal cutting settings and care built around Spencer, Idaho, opals.
Opal cutting
We cut Spencer opals from the rough you provide. There is NEVER a guarantee that your opal will finish. The only guarantee is that you WILL NOT be charged unless you receive a finished opal that is ready to be set. Solid or matrix opals are charged by time spent cutting; the minimum charge is $60 regardless of size. I do not and will not cut standard-size solid or matrix opals; any solids will all be free-form opals.
Opal setting
We do provide a basic opal setting service. The settings are sterling silver, and if your finished opal is one of the sizes that I have a setting for, I can set it for you and include a jewelry box to store it in for a very reasonable price. If you require something more elaborate, the opal I provide you can be set any way you like, in any metal, by any competent bench jeweler. We have the ability to coordinate with a Silversmith.
Other services
Re-polish
We do offer re-polish services for stones already set. We need to see the piece to see if we can do it and give an estimate.
Other Stones
I will have a section that has other stones for sale, such as agate, jasper, petrified wood, and Australian opals.
